Opioid-Free Anesthesia in Bariatric Surgery: A Retrospective Cohort Study

Retrospective cohort study. Data was collected from medical records June 2018 to September 2019 for consecutive patients aged 18 and older undergoing elective laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy obesity. A standardized ERAS pathway bariatric surgery utilized in all study patients. For anesthetic maintenance, the OFA group (n = 46) received propofol combined with dexmedetomidine, lidocaine, and/or ketamine by intravenous infusion. In opioid-based anesthesia (OBA) 160), a volatile agent or infusion opioid were used.
